Devon Rex Appearance
The Devon Rex is an unusual cat with big eyes and pixie look expression. The body is muscular and slender with a unique frail appearance. The head is modified wedge shaped with a short well developed muzzle and prominent cheekbones. The eyes are large, wide set and oval in shape. Eye colors are clear intense and vary according to the coat color. The ears are low set, slightly rounded with small lynx-like tufts at their tips. The tail is long, fine and tapering. The weight of the Devon Rex is around 5-10 pounds.
The Devon Rex has a soft, fine, full bodied and rexed. The coat had a distinctive touch is curled or waved and made up largely of down hairs with few guard hairs. Some suffer from bare patches. All colors and patterns are accepted but the most commons are: white, black, blue, red, cream, chocolate, lavender, cinnamon & fawn.
Devon Rex Temperament
The Devon Rex very affectionate cat and need constant human or feline companion. They are gentle, intelligent, playful and adventurers. They are also alert and active, always ready to play and very curious. The Devon Rex gets along well with other cats, dogs and other household pets. They are good with children and are very attached to their owner.
Is Devon Rex the Right Breed for You?
Devon Rex is best suited to apartment living. They are extremely sociable creatures that could be unhappy if not getting enough attention. They need your company most of the time and are not recommended to leave them along for any length of time. If you have to work or stay away is better to give them another cat for company or just not to get a Devon Rex at all.

The life expectancy of the Devon Rex is around 10 to 15 years.
Devon Rex Health Problems
The Devon Rex is a relatively healthy breed. There major concerns associated with them are pseudo hemophilia, myopathy, Patella luxation and dental problems.
Devon Rex Care and Grooming
The Devon Rex coat is low maintenance. Bathing is optional. The Devon Rex cats should not be bathed more often than once every six weeks to keep their skin from drying out. Due to their coat these breed not tolerate extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
It is highly recommended for all cats and household pets to have annual vaccinations, veterinary checkups, and a quality diet. Check and clean their ears occasionally and trim off the sharp points of the claws regularly using good clippers.

The Devon Rex doesn’t shed much hair; therefore may be well suited for those with allergies.
